Brew a fresh batch when you want it. Shelf-stable bottled teas are made to last on the shelf, but processing and ingredients vary by product. Making your own lets you choose the sweetness and brew strength, with real osmanthus aroma alongside the tea.
In the kit
- 100g Thai Red Oolong No.12 – Open Leaf
- 20g osmanthus, packed separately for brewing and finishing
Cold brew
Add 5g of tea and a small pinch of osmanthus to 500ml of cold water. Refrigerate for 8–12 hours, strain, then pour over ice. Keep some osmanthus aside to finish the glass. Adjust the amount of osmanthus to taste.
Yield
The 100g of tea makes about 20 batches of 500ml, or around 40 glasses at 250ml each, depending on how you serve it. At the $28 kit price, that is about $0.70 per 250ml glass, before shipping. A 500ml batch works out at about $1.40.
