The Smallholder’s Harvest

This Black Assamica comes from a smallholder farm in Northern Thailand, where locally grown broad-leaf Camellia sinensis var. assamica is cultivated in limited quantities.

Harvested in July 2026, the tea is grown using organic farming practices, although the farm does not hold formal organic certification.

Smallholder production is an important part of Northern Thailand’s tea heritage. These farms produce relatively modest quantities, often with considerable variation between individual harvests. For PRANIT, that makes provenance and careful selection especially important.

The tea has a rich, rounded profile, with notes of toasted oats, jasmine cream, honey and sugar cane. It makes an approachable everyday black tea, and its character also makes it well suited to ageing. As with any tea, ageing can change the flavour over time and does not guarantee improvement.

We’ve chosen to press this harvest into individually numbered cakes as a limited expression of small-scale Northern Thai tea production.

An excellent choice for black tea drinkers who appreciate depth, comfort and a genuine connection to the source.

Pressed to Enjoy. Made to Share.

Each PRANIT tea cake is part of a limited production run, individually numbered and presented with a handmade Akha textile bag and complimentary tea cake knife.

Carefully separate a portion of the pressed leaves, brew in your favourite teapot or gaiwan, and enjoy the unfolding character of the tea through successive infusions.

A beautiful gift for a tea lover, a new way to explore familiar cultivars, or something special to keep for yourself.

Enjoy now or revisit over time. Store your cake in a cool, dry, clean environment, away from strong odours, direct sunlight and excessive humidity. Flavour and aroma may change during storage, although ageing does not guarantee improvement.

Every cake is an invitation to discover Northern Thailand, one infusion at a time.

Complimentary knife inclusion is subject to destination shipping restrictions.
